This site is dedicated to my angel, Koda Kai. Koda came into my life Spring of 2005. She was the cutest husky pup ever... in my eyes.
She was so beautiful, sweet and smart as a whip. Sometimes too smart for her own good.
I had her with me for 5 years. She was diagnosed with cancer and the vet did everything he could but I had to let my baby go. Saying
goodbye was the hardest and saddest thing I've ever had to do in my life.
I still cry when I think about it. But, deep down, I feel relieved knowing she's in heaven watching over me.
You will always be my sweet angel. Mommy loves you!
RIP Koda Kai: Feb. 26, 2005 - July 28, 2009.

After my precious baby passed away I knew I had to find myself another buddy. My life is empty without a four-legged companion. So I searched until I found the perfect little furball. Meet baby Kiana Diamonte.

Of course, she's not that little any more.

Kiana has a few similarities as her predecessor... but she has her own personality. Her nickname is "
Mama's Monster".

She's been a complete joy, though.
Recently we found a lost husky named, Hurley. Hurley is a gray/white girl with a gentle disposition. Luckily she had her tags on and we were able to locate her owners. A month later Hurley was out and about again. We dialed up Hurley's parent's and once again, they were united. After a second encounter, it sparked a chain of events for my boyfriend, George, and I. He brought up the idea of adopting another husky. I completely agreed and the search was on. He went on different sites daily, reading stories about so many dogs that needed a furever home.
One week George was working in the Dallas area. Coincidentally, one of the dogs he was following was in the same area. So he checked the shelter to see if
Jenny was still there. He learned that Jenny and another husky, Forest, had been taken by
Operation Kindness... and just in the nick of time. Jenny was scheduled to be euthanized within a couple of days.
George had to wait another day to visit Jenny at
Operation Kindness. But at least he knew she was out of harm's way. The next day George set out on his journey. He drove 45 minutes and waited another couple of hours for the shelter to open up. Once inside, they told him it would be a moment before they could bring out Jenny. He saw other dogs that were being brought out. At the same time, they brought out the other husky that was with Jenny... Forest.
George went up to Forest and was greeted with kisses. Forest was very loving to this stranger. George felt a connection right away.
But he still had to meet Jenny.
When Jenny came to greet George she was quite shy and a little standoff-ish. George inquired about both dogs. Jenny was in good health but just had a small skin infection on her ears that was bring treated. Forest was supposed to be adopted but the adoptee backed out at the last minute when he found out Forest tested positive for heartworms. George asked what the process would be to take care of the heartworms. The response was it costs a lot of money and if
Operation Kindness was to treat him it would be at least a month to schedule him in. George was very upset to hear this. He didn't think it was right for Forest to be put on the back burner. He asked me what I thought and after some deliberation we agreed he needs to get Forest ASAP.
George went through the "check out" process and after many hours he was on his way home with our new baby. Of course, our new baby had to have a new name. Forest was NOT suited for him. So, I searched the web, as always, for something unique. On the first attempt I had found the perfect name...Keoki. Which is Hawaiian for George! How awesome is that? Meet Keoki.

| Keoki |
The next day we got Keoki I took him to our local vet,
Animal Alliance. They checked him out and besides the heartworms he was in pretty good health. We started his treatment right away. He was on doxycycline for a month. Right now he is on break from it for 2 months then he will go in to retest and on to the next step. Keoki is one of the sweetest, kindest and smarted huskies... he reminds me so much of my Koda Kai. Which a few people have made the same remark.
